Pillar 2: Climate Action and Livelihood

Objective: Strengthen community resilience to climate change while improving sustainable livelihood opportunities for youth and households.

High-Impact Activities

Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) Training

  • Description: Practical training on climate-smart agriculture practices, including sustainable farming, agroforestry, soil and water conservation, and post-harvest management. Training combines hands-on field demonstrations with participatory learning approaches.

  • Outcome: Participants adopt sustainable agricultural practices, increase productivity, and build resilience to climate shocks.

  • Target: Youth and adult farmers in rural and climate-vulnerable communities.

  • Impact Measurement: Number of farmers trained; adoption rate of CSA practices; increase in agricultural yield and household income; resilience indicators such as reduced crop loss from climate events.

Youth-Led Eco-Friendly Livelihood Projects

  • Description: Support youth to identify, design, and implement community-based, environmentally friendly income-generating projects. Activities include technical support, mentorship, seed funding, and market linkage facilitation.

  • Outcome: Youth generate sustainable income while promoting environmental conservation and community development.

  • Target: Rural youth and community groups.

  • Impact Measurement: Number of projects implemented; income generated; environmental impact assessments; level of community engagement and participation.
